Last Friday,
Pillows at Giannetti Home
while leaving Los Angeles International Airport:
Husband: "Why were you late picking me up?"
Me: "Sorry. I stopped at Brooke's from Velvet and Linen shop on San Vincente since I was up here."
Husband: "Who?"
Me: "Brooke Giannetti. The blogger who makes everyone else look like a slacker. Great mom, wife, interior designer, store owner, philanthropist, book writer, chicken farmer..."
Husband: "... a blogger Idol?"
Me: "She sent me an encouraging email when I felt like quitting the blog in the beginning."
Husband: "Like 'Martha Stewart'? Well, then I guess that's OK you left your poor husband waiting at the curb."
Earlier At Giannetti Home:
Me: "Hi. I am a fan of Brooke's blog. I just mentioned her on
my famous Joy of Doing Laundry Post. Here's my card.
Thanks for the silver spoon ornament that I won last Christmas."
Kelly (cute store manager/designer): "She's not here right now. They are doing the home tour installation to benefit the Gilt and Ashton Kutcher for the DNA Foundation."
Me: "Oh, that's right. I knew that.
(to inner self: that's creepy, you haven't even met Brooke personally, oh well). Mind if I take some photos?"
Kelly: "Go right ahead. Want a tour?"
Source: Lisa Romerein...Better photo than what I took.
The design space is to the right of the amazing bird cage.
There was a beautiful sapphire blue roll of Fortuny fabric on one of the desks.
"Oh no!
May I purchase this heavenly smelling candle, please?
I'm in a hurry but, hopefully, I'll catch all green lights."
Best Wishes,
Mary Ann

What a treat to go to Brooke's shop! I'd love to see it in person. Love your commentary with your husband!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Things like that happen to me all the time.
ReplyDeleteMy husband might still be at the airport! I am in love with those pillows. Is that a stack of the book she wrote? I will have to check out her blog. Thanks for a fun post!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Janie
My husband may not be as understanding as yours, but you were perfectly justified in being late!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I know, it does seem creepy to know so much about someone you don't even know or have not met. That is just how it works in this case. I would love to visit the store, I am sure I would want everything. I would have called my hubby to get himself a cab:)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Love Brooke and the store. Her chickens are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you were able to visit. Wish I was close by, but then again I would spend all of my money.
Hope you day is going well.
