Our First Morning In A Paris Apartment

Usually we stay in a hotel in Paris.   But the last time, we rented an apartment and it was a disaster.  It was filthy, the bed linens were thread bare, the washing machine broke and I thought I heard mice.  How come the place with the view of the Eiffel Tower had looked so good online?  We spent one night in the gross apartment and then my husband booked us into a charmingly designed boutique hotel across the street from where we used to live.  Vacation saved!

So, I was hesitant to rent an apartment again until I found the Haven In Paris blog.
Here, we are at their "Monceau Apartment" and everyone is happy and "high fiving" me.

This is the light filled entry to the "Monceau Apartment" near the Parc Monceau
and our old neighborhood.
(All photos by HIP unless otherwise noted).
The living room with herringbone wood floors and neutral, comfortable furnishings,
Notice the antique mirrors and painting and marble mantel?
There were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine when we arrived.
The couch on the far wall makes out into a bed, where our son sleeps.
There is free internet and telephone calls to the US.

My sister and daughter are staying in this light filled room.
The linens are crisply laundered and the beds are comfortable
(love the taupe and white stripes).

 This is our room with
antique engravings.
This is the view from where I am blogging right now.

Howard just went jogging in Parc Monceau and brought back
pains au chocolat, croissants and butter with sea salt crystals.
I just heard my sister say," this is such a cute place."  Time to go make some French Roast coffee.

Oh...and last night (our first night here)...
Our favorite Italian restaurant on Place des Ternes (Tommy and Aunt TC).  They have
delicious carpaccio, wood fired pizzas and spaghetti vongole.
On the walk home.

Best Wishes,
Mary Ann

  6. Am I getting the feeling you might not be coming home? LOL....omg looks amazing. The apt is just fabulous..looks so elegant and pristine! Hand delivered croissants? I am seriously jealous! You sound like us....we were in Paris for 9 days and my son who is seriously addicted to Italian food and doesn't care for French food found this amazing Italian restaurant and we were there 3 or 4 nights! I must say the food was excellent...but we came up with a truce and the rest of the nights were spent eating French food. Have you been to the famous bistro Lipp? Enjoy...looks like you already are!
