Knock...knock. Who's there?
"Hey, Donna! Can I snap a few photos pleeeeese? Your home is beautiful!"
My friend and neighbor, Donna, is a fabulous "function meets detail" designer.
Notice how the arch in the entry way is mimicked in the mantel?
She has many thoughtful touches in the home that she created for her husband,
three children and two little white dogs (try to find them in this post).

The living room
Notice the beautiful blue and white china? Many of these items were gifts or
purchased when Donna's parents in law were corporate expats living in China.

The painting is special as it depicts where Donna and her husband
were married in Wilmington, NC.
The family room is...
adjacent to the beautiful kitchen.
Arched built-in for cookbooks.
Craft drawer conveniently located in the island.Next to the kitchen is a beautiful butler's pantry
with a separate built-in refrigerator just for drinks!
This mud/sand room leading to the garage looks very neat for a family of five.
Cute baskets and see the arch motif again on the bench and
how about that docking station!
how about that docking station!
This is Donna's special fire bowl invention that she made from a 30" wok.
She had a gas line plumbed to it from the barbecue.
Perfect to gather around during the cooler nights.
Let' go upstairs....
They also have an upstairs family room in the kids' wing.
Notice the coastal theme.
The oldest daughter's room is
a beautiful aqua shade and has a fun, Z Gallerie chandelier.

Donna's middle daughter has a nice space in her room to hang out with friends.
In her boy's room, there is a surfing theme and his water polo medals on display.
Nice bay view from the master bedroom.
Light filled upstairs laundry room. OK, I am bit jealous.
But Donna is thankful for her blessings!
Here is the door stop leading to the roof top deck...
with views of Newport Bay and plenty of sunshine.
"Thanks for the tour, Donna. Looks like there are no
skeletons in your closets...just in your window!"
Happy Halloween!

Mary Ann this is the best-of-best! The home is light, airy, quaint, inviting and importantly, quite cozy. Attention to detail is noticed down to the two white beauties. Thank you, and Donna for allowing us the privilege of touring your home. Hugs to you both! Loretta
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful home! Love her mix of painted and stained wood in the house. It's light and bright, but warm, too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say to add everything that Loretta said?! Just thank you Donna for letting us feast our eyes with this perfect and gorgeous house and I specially love her furry babies, wish I had one. Have a nice week sweetie. FABBY
ReplyDeleteStunning, stunning home! Thank you for sharing! I love every inch of it and those dogs are precious!

Mary Ann, this home is stunning. My favorite thing is the boat painting from N.C.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tour! I love how Dona picks up the blue and white of the China and carries it through in the pillow coverings, the living room lamp and the Wilmington painting. And is that the dog's bed I am seeing in the family room under the side table? Great Post!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that IS a beautiful home! The laundry room and the mudroom are fabulous. I would love space like that in our house. The home's setting on the water is terrific too. Thanks to you and to Donna for opening her home to us.
ReplyDeleteClaudia
It is absolutely gorgeous - thanks for the tour! That butler's pantry and laundry room are the extras that do it for me!
ReplyDeleteHi Maryann, you are quite the tour operator. Whats not to love here, this is as elegant and "feel good" of a house as they come. Every room is so tasteful (I am a little jealous of how uncluttered it feels)..ugh where is the "stuff" that is taking over MY house and seems to grow over night.
ReplyDeleteLove the living room with its blue and white touches and the kitchen, the upstairs laundry...its all GORGEOUS!
LOVE your house tours! So fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this beautiful home, Mary Ann. Your neighbor is some designer!
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is off to a great start.

What a beautiful home! The millwork has me drooling. Looks like a magazine spread!
ReplyDeleteJust perfect. And your images are very professional. You have beautifully captured the essence of the house. How does your neighbour keep the house looking like this with dogs and children?
ReplyDeleteThat is a truly gorgeous home! Has it been featured in a magazine before? It looked familiar to me but maybe it is just because it is so beautiful that it should be in a magazine. :-) You are your friend are 2 peas in a pod when it comes to gorgeous homes!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Mary Ann, Cathy here from up north. I love your friend's home and was tickled to see her kitchen! Can you find out the name of the granite she used on the island and perimeter (I think that's black but I'm not sure). It's exactly what I want to do!!
ReplyDeleteI love this style of decor...clean. Of course I love the view too, makes me miss home!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color scheme, white with dark brown/black and blue accents. Love it! Thanks for the tour.

ReplyDeleteThis home is sooo gorgeous! You really live in a beautiful town!
ReplyDeleteCan you ask her what color her door is?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home! I love the stairs, the built-ins and that painting in the dining room...we were married on Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, and lived there for seven years!!
ReplyDeleteLove clay imprints. Such a sweet touch! :)
ReplyDeleteLove Donna's house. It is so beautiful. Love her style and colors. And the kitchen is a wow - and so is the laundry room. I love how bright and airy it is. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteWow, I loved the tour!!
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Cindy
Mary Ann, what a beautiful home. I love every inch of it. The kitchen and living room are two of my favorites. How nice of your friend to share her home with all of us. Now we can dream away about all the wonderful details. :) Gayle
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Ann! Thank you for knocking on Donna's door and showing us inside. A gorgeous home, full on inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love this home, Mary Ann. Such restrained elegance, and the location is stunning. Thank her for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteBest...Victoria
Beautiful home Mary Ann. Her style reminds me a little of yours...very edited and tailored. Love the kitchen and I had to send it to a client so she could see the countertops. We picked something similar [dark limestone on the perimeter & something different on the island] and she was having second thoughts yesterday! This might help to visualize.
ReplyDeleteMaryann, what a beautiful home. I love her living room. The blue oriental lamp and the jars are a wonderful detail.
ReplyDeleteI will ask Donna some questions about the front door color and kitchen island material and do a follow-up post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home and every single room is my favorite...and the outside space is beautiful too, not to mention the location and views!! Every detail is so well thought out for a completely organized home!
ReplyDeleteThe exterior is just as beautiful as the interior spaces. What a lovely, home, classic and casual describes her style too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home! Looks massive, by island standards, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous home! Thanks for showing us around.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home. Paint colors, I need to know her paint colors! Would she possibly tell us?
ReplyDeleteMary Ann, Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteYour friend has a gorgeous home - ummm, wowzers! It's hard to believe they are a family of 5 as it looks like a model home. The color palette is soft and beautiful and she has incorporated the perfect balance of beach accents throughout {very tasteful}. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marie
Loved this thank you Mary Ann....if only I could keep my house this neat! Especially my 5 year olds room :) ~Kim
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Ann,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home...thank you for the tour!
Is there any way you could find out where Donna got the large pots by the front door? We need to replace our zinc ones with something more weather resistant. We have looked all over and cannot find the right style/material. I think something like hers would be exactly what we need.
Thank you!
Linda in San Diego
Beautiful home! Thanks for the tour !
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Your friends house is just gorgeous! I loved every bit of it!
ReplyDeleteAll I can saw is WOW!!! Love every little detail about this home. It's absolutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat does it! I am moving to your neighborhood. Every tour is stunning. Thank you so much for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteI could move into this house and be very happy -- and I even love Newport Beach.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if I lived there, there would be more dust.
Gorgeous!
Now I need to find one of those knot-doorstops for our beach house; it's perfect!
Cass
Wow I would definitely love to live there! It's proximity to the Newport beach makes it even more appealing. Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh I have a BIG favor. I am in Aqua paint sample overload. My daughter and I are painting her room this week (spring break) an aqua shade and we simply can't find just the right one.... the one in the house above on my computer screen looks exceptional! and perfect! Could you please please find out the color and brand for me?? Pretty please?? :)
