My cousin was visiting from Northern California this weekend and we wanted to have a
relaxing dinner at home. I prepared this Roasted Vegetable Tart from
the January issue of "Bon Appétit."
Since I roasted the vegetables and made the crust the night before, it was easy to assemble.
I added the chopped parsley for a little more color. This would also be a good main course for a brunch or lunch...
in fact, we reheated it for breakfast the following day.
Here is the full menu. The Orange and Soy Glazed Baby Back Ribs
were also from the January issue.
I made extra ribs so we would have leftovers.
The orange segments in the salad carries the citrus theme through to the lemon sorbet dessert
(store bought, with a spritz of fresh lemon juice).
On to the bargains...Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams are having a 50% off sale
on floor sample pillows.
This woven plaid pillow was just $40 including the down and feather insert.
This one is $60. I like that these pillows have self welting and invisible zippers.
My cousin (an avid gardener) and I strolled around Roger's Gardens in Newport Beach.
These all weather wicker and zinc hanging baskets were 75% off.
We played with plant combinations and here's what we came up with...
Speaking of outdoor décor, Vignette Design did a beautiful post on Asti, California.
Look at the view!
This skate board has been a dangerous tripping hazard for the last few weeks...
but it's owner went back to college yesterday.
How was your weekend?
