Giveaway and a Worthwhile Cause

You know Debbie?  My good friend
and interior designer
(I post about her style all the time).
Her daughter, Kate, who is beautiful inside and out, wants to tell you about a worthwhile endeavor...

HI! My name is Kate and I am excited to share with you today a special jewelry line close to my heart: love, ROWAN.
These are no ordinary baubles - these beads support a non-profit I believe in called
ROWAN, Rural Orphans & Widows AIDS Network.
I have the opportunity to visit this rural Ugandan community in early July! Check out the 1 minute video about us HERE.

I am a contemporary art consultant and I love sporting my ROWAN beads on the job because not only are they artsy, stylish and fun, but they support a great cause. Fashion and philanthropy in one? Yes please.

For a limited time you can get my Shabby Chic necklace (so awesome that you're simultaneoulsy supporting Ugandan Widows!)HERE

AND great news... we are going to give away this multi-colored bracelet made by the ROWAN women!

There are two things you can do to win:

1. Everyone who watches the ROWAN video and leaves a comment on the blog below enters the contest.
OR
2. If you join ROWAN's facebook page and share the video, you have more chances to win the bracelet! Leave a comment here that you did.
This is open to U.S. and Canadian participants and we must have your email address to notify you if you win. Drawing this Friday.

SO, JOIN ME AND OUR ROWAN TEAM NOW!

Happy shopping while giving!!

Love, Kate & the ROWAN team

Thank you, Kate!

  2. What a beautiful video and everyone looks so happy. Nice to see they have running water too since we’ve been working to make sure every village has running fresh water through water.org. Everyone needs water, food and thanks to Rowan a way to help themselves. Love the necklaces and I’m off to buy one myself!

  7. Great cause! My daughter runs a microfinance club at her high school which raises funds to lend to struggling entrepreneurs in the developing world through kiva.org and water.org. It's a good sustainable alternative to traditional charitable organizations, as it not only provides needed capital, but generates self esteem and independence. Thanks for sharing, Mary Ann!

  31. Oh I was so excited about Rowan I forgot to mention my sister-in-law works for the non profit company (red) whose proceeds benefit AIDS research. She recently went to Africa to meet some of the women and children with HIV and AIDS who have received medication through the (red) program and had their quality of life improved greatly. So encouraging to see people like Kate doing good things for others in this world!!!

    1. great! I have heard of Red and that is wonderful your sis-in-law has a heart for Africa as well! 1/3 of our widows and orphans are HIV +, and the rest have lost their loved ones due to it. There is much work to be done, but hope never disappoints us. :)
