Holiday Time at Roger's Gardens

It's always fun and inspiring to visit
Roger's Gardens in Corona del Mar, California
for Christmas decorating ideas.

I stopped in last week with
my friends, Debbie and Cindy.

I like this chalkboard lettering.

I'm excited to pull out the vintage jeweled
Christmas tree (like these) that I made last year.
Our cousin, Janice has a stash of vintage jewelry,
so we are going to make a couple more trees this year.

This year, Roger's had pretty arrangements in wooden crates
and moss covered "pocket books."

I wish I had bought one of these wreaths to
bring back to San Francisco.

Cindy purchased one of these shell trees for her home.
There was other nautical decor...

Rows of drift wood like these...
were nestled along Christmas tree trunks.

This little trip to Roger's Gardens
definitely has me inspired!
We just got back Saturday from a
great time in southern California.
On Sunday, we bought fresh, Christmas greenery
and a lit twig tree from Restoration Hardware.
I also worked on our Christmas cards.
(My friend, Katherine helped me
and we got so much done with two sets of hands).
With a shorter holiday season, I'm determined not to get overwhelmed...and just enjoy what I can get done
(and show glimpses of it here this week).

Hope you are enjoying this time as well!

  3. Good morning Mary Ann. When I lived in San Diego, we would have a girls trip to Rogers Gardens, stay at the Ritz Carlton, go shopping at Fashion Island, and have an amazing time! Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories!

    Happy Holidays,

    1. Rogers does have good quality! I've tried to copy some of their arrangements and it practically ends up the same price and not as good looking!

  6. I have never been but would love to go!! P.S Maryanne I bet you can pick up one of those wreaths at the flower mart. Have you been yet?

  7. This place is magical Mary Ann! Thank you for taking us along!!!!!

  8. Awwwwww…..Rogers Gardens, a must place to visit during holiday time! And I always come away with lots of ideas and loads Christmas joy! Every inch is filled with beautiful delights! I'm having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit this year, so I think a trip to Rogers is a must to get me in the mood. Hope you'll share the new "vintage jeweled" trees that you make with us. Love the one you did last year.

So glad you were able to come back for a visit with your good friends….and could the weather have been any nicer? Happy decorating! XO Gail

  13. Some day I want to visit Roger's Gardens in December, never have time to get there before Christmas... we are planning a day trip to O.C. in Jan. so at least I can score some of their cool ornaments on sale!

    Love the succulent/moss pocketbooks!

  17. I love Rogers Gardens - will have to make a trip down there before Christmas. They always have such beautiful items and you can get some great decorating ideas.
Glad that you had a good time here in Southern CA. Bet SFO is very pretty all decorated for Christmas.

  18. I love this tour of Rogers Gardens....almost as nice as being there....focus on the ALMOST! I remember going to Rogers in all black Lululemon after Bar Method and pretending the blazing sun in December did not at all feel like 73 degrees.

  19. Beautiful inspiration, Mary Ann! What a fun place to stroll through - I love the moss covered bags and all that ivy - gorgeous!

  20. What a beautiful shop!! My faves are the moss pocket books! Too cute!

  21. Wow! Thanks for sharing, Mary Ann!! Yu never fail to inspire with your travels.

  22. That's the most incredible place in the world. Loved the tour. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

  23. Oh shoot, now I'll need to go...those wreathes (!) and to see how the succulents are attached to the giant (hanging) pine cones.
Our home has thrown us a design curve ball. A plumbing leak has created a mess of guest bedroom furnishings (doors too) in the living room - I may dress the exposed wall studs and ceiling joists with garland and call it good till after New Years :-)

  24. I was given a very special Christmas ornament of blown glass by a woman who used to work at this store! If love to visit.

It's SO nice to hear from you!
