Around the City and a Winner

Here are a few shots of
my wanderings around San Francisco.
This is the tiled floor (cool how it looks three dimensional)
and a black and white gallery
in the downtown Banana Republic.

We went to this movie theatre on
Van Ness Avenue housed in
a former, grand auto dealership.

This photo of the Palace of Fine Arts
was taken with my I-phone .
My friend's mom has this view from her home and
we had a relaxing dinner together there recently.

This view from our living room has the unusual site of
two cruise ships docked in the bay.

This embroidered linen lumbar pillow came from Home Goods last week.
My little office is in pale and neutral tones since
I work with lots of different colors.
My bulletin board is about to change...
some fun local projects in the works.
Jody won the vanIvey dish give-away.
I will be emailing you, Jody.  Congrats!

We had a rainy weekend.
But we need it and
it's all good in San Francisco.

PS.  I barely notice the cable car sounds anymore.

  7. WOW, Oh my…. I am about speechless and more than thrilled to have won this most generous and kind prize from vanIvey ceramic pottery. I am so excited ..what a way to start the week…month or any time actually. I am so appreciative of the opportunity to win and this will be a great story to tell for all time. The pottery is beautifully made and the Baroque Heart Dish makes my "heart" swoon.
Mary Ann, I enjoy your lovely blog and have enjoyed myself reading all your back post and learning many design, party and recipe ideas. Your photography is top notch to boot.
Thank you again, and please accept my heart felt appreciation.

    Kind regards,

  8. Some stunning architecture. The floor makes me feel a bit giddy.

  9. Your photos are a great reminder to always all look up and down for inspiration.

  10. So many fun places to explore in SF….it would take years to see them all! That view from your apartment is gorgeous…..I wouldn't get anything done if I could look out and see that! I can just imagine sitting in your beautiful living room, rain coming down, curled up with a good book and a cup of hot tea….what could be better. I LOVE rain and though we did get a little, we need so much more! xo Gail

  12. Mary Ann your sights around the city are awesome. That theater is amazing! I loooove old grand buildings. They are such treasures. Never gonna build them like that again. Your friend's view of the museum is so cool. Glad you're getting some rain cuz we're sure not, and we are going to need some water from Nor Cal for sure! Going into the 80s again this week. So weird. Glad the cable car isn't bugging you anymore!

P.S. Linee and I enjoyed the hell out of beautiful Newport Beach and San Clemente this weekend. Perfect weather and beauty everywhere.
