Contemporary Beach Style in the Bahamas

My family along with our friends from Florida are renting this beautiful modern home on Grand Guana Cay (pronounced Key).  The above photograph was taken from the upstairs loggia.  It gets great cross breezes.
The water in the Bahamas comprises every gorgeous color of blue.

Here is the living room downstairs that is open to the kitchen.
Looks neat for the moment but
with five families, here is the reality...
Jackie, a local chef, prepares fruit for lunch.
The kitchen has custom touches such as the walnut counter and this free standing open pantry (great for easily seeing everything you brought with you).

Notice the herringbone tiled floors.

We ate dinner on the stainless steel topped table with a water view.

The pool water stayed surprisingly cool in such a hot climate.
Here's my glamorous friend, Netta.
Cheers!

  5. This is a dream vacation!
Jackie only adds to the dream. A beach vacation home without having to do your own cooking. Now that is perfection.

  7. Oh goodness, Mary Ann. You're really making me envious! I have never been to the Caribbean and it's high on my list of places to go. The home you're staying at is amazing. Can you share how you came upon it? Is there a company you went through to find it? Have a fabulous time. How could you not with such a gorgeous setting, beautiful home and great friends to share it with.
