Colorful Flea Market Accessories

Have you checked out your local flea market lately?  Yesterday, my daughter, her friend and I went to the Treasure Island Flea Market.  Here are some things that caught my eye.

These Fouta towels from Tunsia are fun...
The industrial benches were being unloaded...see how you can choose your bench cover from vintage cloth.

I like the idea of framing antique/vintage maps that have meaning to you.

Get this...you can buy a "happy hour two for one mai tai" before noon.  Do they have that at YOUR flea market?  I had an iced coffee instead.

They sell these recycled jars with or without blooms or
succulents.
The Treasure Island Flea is pet friendly... Chief got a free dog biscuit.

So, what came home with me?
This vintage Chinese box for $20.  It may get moved around later.

And on impulse... I bought this rose quartz for $10...I didn't know why.
Later, my daughter looked up the meaning of Rose Quartz online:
"This stone of unconditional love that opens the heart chakra to all forms of love: self-love, family love, platonic love, and romantic love...Bringing love in to life and daily situations not only brings inner warmth, but it also lowers stress and soothes those around it".

So that's why that rock called my name (and it will be a reminder of a fun day).

Thanks for visiting.

  1. I love flea markets especially the ones near St. Tropez. I have found many a treasure in them from furniture to jewellery.

    1. THAT sounds glamorous, Josephine! Lots of things in my home came from the flea markets in Paris.

  3. Yes, it opens at 10 am and we got there at 9:45 and were able to park really close. It's a lot smaller that the Alameda one.

  4. Love those benches and all the wonderful things you've shown here. I have known about the rose quartz for quite some time, I have a bracelet one too which claims to turn white if your loved one is not loving you anymore! LOL! Scary thought, luckily mine is still rosy pink. I also have the same kind of rock I use on my decor too and definitely, so far, has 'worked' for me! ;-)

  9. GREAT flea market (much better than the Ventura Flea Market by me). I grew up in Pacifica, so I love returning to the Bay Area whenever I can. Next time, I will need to stop by this flea market.

    1. Pacific is beautiful...I was there recently for a client. I sure like Ventura though...have you been to Lure? My good friend, Debbie (who I am always talking about here) designed it.

  11. Love all your flea market finds. I have a blue box exactly like the one you got only I paid about twice what you did!!! And who knew that rose quartz had such a "Love" filled meaning! Think I need a hunk of it, not that I need more lovin'
but I could use some stress relief! Fun post with lots of inspiring things!

  13. Mary Ann, the minute I saw that rose quartz I just loved it! Then I read what you wrote and I thought, "That's pretty amazing." I believe bringing touches of nature into the house is more interesting than the things we buy for our homes. I know how much pleasure I get from seeing the shells and pieces of driftwood we've collected on the beach over the years and the flowers cut from our garden.
