Blue and White Projects and an Easy Weeknight Party

Hello!  I'm writing this during a HGTV Fixer Upper and Five Day Flip marathon.   Howard is traveling on business and I am in full control of the remote!  I like fast forwarding through the home selection process (and commercials) to demolition...and the reveal.  That instant gratification!

This is Patty's home in Newport Beach which I've shown before
but we have some new additions like the RH iron side table and lamp.
And some new cube seating.
In Patty's family room is a PB Comfort Sleeper sofa...which she confirms is actually comfortable...even the pull out bed (and usually you get one or the other).
We are working on finishing her master bedroom...another post.

Here's Carolyn's blue and white guest room....
With new brass swing arm lamps to complement the family heirloom bed frame and give more table space.
The Paris painting's frame used to be dark brown and now it feels fresh.  We accessorized with things she already owned but added that little brass tray.
I like my new turquoise Target pencils (the lead is writes well).
Last Thursday, I  had a couple girlfriends over for a wine and cheese happy hour. I kind of pulled out everything in the refrigerator and displayed it on our cutting board.  There is hummus topped with a layer of tapenade, cream cheese topped with fig jam and Trader Joe's rosemary marcona almonds...easy.  Just about having things in your fridge and pantry.
After a few hours (we were having fun), I thought "I'd better make them a little impromptu dinner!"  So, I made this Asparagus, Prosciutto, Fontina Cheese Pizza.  I was glad I had the fresh pizza dough on hand.
Annie brought this spring bouquet as a gift.  Notice how it's tied with raffia making it stay together?

One more thing... this book by Kristy from Design Chic made my recent long flight from London to California much more enjoyable!  Have you ordered YOUR copy?

  15. Love the update on your friend/client's home. So fresh and pretty, you always do the best job with that. I also appreciate your use of the client's items they have around the house. Not that we don't all enjoy a few new accessories, but it's great that you spruce up a vignette with your creativity.
I love the appetizer board of goodies. Looks like this was a fun get together.

  16. Very pretty, Mary Ann! Do you think the wall sconces are large scale enough to work next to a king size bed with a large upholstered headboard? Thanks!

    1. Probably. If your end tables are small. Tape the dimensions out on the wall. And PB takes returns :)

  23. Hi! I just found your Blog thru WOW, congratulations on your feature. Your appetizers board looks amazing! I took a tour of your beautiful home. You are so lucky to live in SF and to have such beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge. I used to live in the Bay Area for 10 years. I lived in Alamo, Alameda, Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek. My husband proposed on the Golden Gate Bridge after a fabulous dinner in the City, and we got married in Carmel! San Francisco is my favorite city in the world and I miss it so much! like the song, I left my heart in San Fancisco... :)
Thank you for bringing me back so many memories! I love your Blog and I will visit again soon!
