FYI: Seven Great Things!

1.  My new desk calendar from Paper Source is on sale right now.  I put the current month on my desk and the other colorful months pinned up on the bulletin to see the year at a glance...

 2.  We went to Cirque du Soleil Luzia here in San Francisco the other night.  It's amazing what these performers can do (the acrobats below didn't have cables on and it was a little scary to watch!).

3.  Have you seen the new line of pillows at Pottery Barn lately?  Really pretty ones!  Remember to buy the bigger inserts (like for the 22" squares, buy at least 24" or 26").
We put together this combo for a client who loves blue...
 4.  And I really like Pottery Barn's new bakeware made in Portugal.

5.  We bought this heavy wicker tray at Pottery Barn to update my client's coffee table.  It's in the stores, but I haven't seen it online yet.
Along with some accessories... she is going to print family photos and leave them on display in the glass box.
If you are convinced that you can't keep plants alive, the Pottery Barn faux succulent plants  are good looking (I think the greyish ones look more real).  And you can place them on shelves and not worry about watering.

6.  This wine bucket is a great gift as it can be used for chilling wine or as a pretty planter on your dining table filled with ferns, ivy or hydrangea plants.

7.  We have been trying to eat healthier and I just made this delicious  Spaghetti Squash Puttanesca.  With all the flavors you hardly miss the carbs and it can be made on a single baking sheet pan (less clean-up).

  1. Cirque du Soleil is amazing.
I received a big tray like that and use it all the time in the summer. It's perfect for carrying tall things like wine glasses, because of the tall sides.
    Your dinner looks yummy!

    1. At my orthopedic surgeons office (for my broken ankle) he had autographed photos of Cirque du Soleil performers...so you know how dangerous their job is!

  6. The first photo of your little office so inspired me that I immediately got up and started tidying mine, rearranging my bookcase next to my little desk corner and texting my husband to ask him to pick me up some flowers at Trader Joe's when he goes at lunchtime. :) You have that effect on me often!

    1. HA! You are so cute. I put any of the leftover flowers that are still good from the week before in my office and the new ones in the living room. So, often...no flowers in my office. I do light the candle and play music though.

  8. Mary Ann,

I love it when you share your finds. Love some of these treasures.
I saw Love in Las Vegas (Cirque doing a Beatles story) and was amazed at the athletic agility.

  9. Love all 7 of these "great" things! Your office always looks so nice but adding all the colorful months on your board looks so pretty. Pottery Barn does have great stuff! Haven't been in awhile, must go ASAP!!!

  10. Love the desk calendar, I must admit despite having an iPad and iPhone I still love to keep a diary for daily notes! I try to keep appointments in my head, those of myself, husband and children, it works for me, It's my way of keeping the brain fully active, but I think it probably drives everyone else a little nuts, I am the only one who knows exactly what is going on!!!

  12. Oooh, such a fun post, Mary Ann! I have several comments. First, I have been liking what I see at Pottery Barn too. I just bought a white faux fur pillow cover for less than $19. I had an insert, but it's not oversized. Even so, it looks great. When it comes to succulents, I prefer the real thing, and they're so easy to care for, but if you have a space that gets no natural light (like my office at work), they are a nice addition. I have the lantern that's in the photo with the succulents -- it's very nice.

Thanks for sharing the puttanesca recipe. I can't wait to try it!

Lastly, I love Cirque de Soleil performances. Such a wonderful way to spend an evening. They are amazing performers.
