Classic • Casual • Fashion: Spring Updates

A couple of times a year, I look in my closet and think "what the heck...nothing to wear?!"  (Granted...who knows what's in the ironing basket--have to get to that).

There is a difference as to what feels appropriate for San Francisco during the week (darker shades), versus the weekend.  Also, I need a different, lighter feel for when I visit family and friends in the warmer climes of San Diego and Florida.  AND as with interiors... I like to mix high and low.

Here are some "tried and true" items, as well as, some new purchases (and some wished for) for Spring/Summer.  Since I'm on the short side, I often buy the petite sizes when available.  But all of these come in regular sizes.

     1.  2.  3.  A gift from my husband. 4.   5.    6. Always need white shirts
7.  My favorite8. Comfortable.  I have these.

Off the shoulder is good for "women of a certain age" since our shoulders still look good :)  And I'm loving anything embroidered or with tassels.  Block heels, too!

When stores like Anthropologie and Banana Republic have promotions, I've learned that they don't last.  So, be on the lookout.  And sometimes you have to pay full price for something you really want.

  1.  Purchased on 25% off dresses promotion.  Love the pockets.  2.
  3.  Have these.  4.   5.  Just bought during a 40% promotion.

1.  Just bought...can be dressed up or down...25% off promotion
 2. Want this. Saw it in the store...so pretty.  3.   4.
5.  I have these in black...so comfortable and breathable that I want them in white, too.

  1.   2. Have these. 3.  You can wear these all year long.  Especially in S.F.
   4.  My favorite...thick fabric so a flattering look.

What are you thinking you want to add to your wardrobe for the warmer weather ?

  1. Wow...I love all of these great spring and summer wardrobe picks! You will look fabulous in all of these! I desperately need a closet purge to get ready for warmer weather. I have tons of clothes but still have those "I've got nothing to wear" moments! Thanks for the inspiration!
    xo Gail.

  7. Here in Kansas, which gets hot and humid, I turn to linen. I have a collection of white linen tunics that look good with pants, capris, even long skirts. I've always loved the tag on a favorite Ralph Lauren blazer: 100% natural linen guaranteed to wrinkle! The linen tunics I have you can take out of the dryer and wear "as is" or iron them giving you two completely different "looks" (ha! ha!).

  10. Oh my goodness I love all your picks, seriously have lots of these in my closet -- I buy petites too and always appreciate stores that carry. Our local Anthropologie doesn't, which is a bummer.
