ORC Three IKEA Industrial

Hello!  Welcome back to
Week Three of the One Room Challenge,
where 20 bloggers make over a room in six weeks.
Here is my design board for this week...
Remember my goals are to make Tommy's room:
• comfortable
• somewhat masculine
• classic, but with a modern country vibe

I went to a nautical store near my house to purchase
a length of rope ($1.00/foot) for this...
oversized pendant from IKEA, only $69.99.
I also bought a vintage style light bulb from Home Depot.
The rope is attached with electrical tape and I
think it adds more "weight."
I put the top rails back on the bed.
was ordered from Etsy.
It arrived and it is even embroidered with her logo.
Please come back next week to see this hung on the bed,
the power of spray paint and more plans.

Check out this week's progress with these
fine bloggers...

  2. Love the idea of using the shower curtain to frame the bed! Rope adds a nice touch and helps camouflage the standard wire and chains.

  3. What a clever idea - the fixture looks fantastic. And I love the extra long shower curtain - will have to store that idea away.
    Have a wonderful day,

  30. The ticking stripe and that rope idea are fab! Love that you used that vintage bulb from Home Depot. I bought one some weeks ago but wasn't too gentle and it broke. However, it's so affordable that I didn't wince at the thought of getting another one:-). Great light fixture too ! Loving the masculine flair.
