There is a new store in nearby
Costa Mesa, California that sells
Costa Mesa, California that sells
Annie Sloan Chalk paint.
Look how they display all the colors available.
It’s called Peinture.
Our cousins gave us these two dresser/bedside chests.
Not one to look “a gift horse in the mouth”
but they were from the Bombay Company,
and well,
…look like it.
I decided to spruce them up for the One Room Challenge
(Where participants make over a room in six weeks…
my first week is HERE).

Truthfully, I don’t enjoy painting.
And I’m not very good at it either.
So, my #1/ONLY painting tip is:
PLAY YOUR FAVORITE TUNES
WHILE DOING IT.
WHILE DOING IT.
I borrowed my husband’s wireless speakers,
and this little thing is awesome!!!
Things are looking worse in Tommy’s room.
CRANK UP THE MUSIC.
I used Old White paint and clear wax…
as I want to keep the look understated.

Half of the cheap pulls broke when I took them off.
I could not find any reasonably priced hardware
with a two inch spread for the screws.
So, I bought some with the more common
2.5 inch spread from Overstock.
You can find them HERE.
$18.49 for ten in oil rubbed bronze.
Good price but I had to hire Adrian
to install them…
bringing up the cost of my “free dressers.”
You DIYers are shaking your heads, but,
there’s no way I could do this myself
and not end up with crooked pulls and damaged fingers.
How ya like me now?
I also took the vintage French poster to be re-done
(wrinkles smoothed out and non-glare glass added)
with a more “aged looking”frame.
I have plans for this pendant
that I bought at IKEA
I’m actually on vacation right now in Florida…
so I had to get the above done in advance…
come back next Wednesday!
Check out what these ladies have
accomplished in a week:
Stop by Calling It Home tomorrow for the others joining in with a big link-up.
